Welcome to Tiger!

It has been about 24 hours since I initially installed OSX Tiger. I chose the "Erase and Install" option since my computer had never had a clean install done on it. I purchased my iMac G5 several months ago, and let it import all of the files and settings from my Powermac G4, which I must say that I miss dearly. I digress. I do enjoy the 20" Screen on my iMac.

Since my iMac has been operating with a few years of "Digital Bloat," since I purchased it, I decided that during my upgrade to Tiger, I would do a clean install. My system is now running much leaner. I have read that to notice the true speed benefit, several days of use must be allowed. This is apparently due to the fact that time must be given for caches and other settings to take hold.

I spent a significant amount of time yesterday reinstalling all of my must-have pieces of software: Photoshop, Illustrator,InDesign, Firefox, Thunderbird, Easy Batch Photo, Ableton Live, Toast, Popcorn, Photo Rescue, iLife, and iWork. I absolutely LURVE the new version of Apple's Mail program, and have even been using Safari. Firefox is still my browser of choice, but the new Safari is actually very nice.

All of my apps appear to be running just as smoothly as they did under 10.3, which is much to my pleasure. I was anticipating some problems, and am happy to report none.

So, Macintosh (Smart) people, get the upgrade to Tiger, and enjoy!
