A Wonderful World

After a brief evaluation of where my hard earned dollars go each month, I have made a few adjustments, the first one being with my cell phone. I have been subscribing to almost every offer that they have thrown my way, and have been the recipient of the most ridiculous cell phone bill, every month since. Goodbye PCS-Vision-camera-pictomatic 2000, goodbye night and weekend minutes starting at 7pm, goodbye unlimited sprint-to-sprint calls, good bye uber-million anytime minutes. This stupid phone should be a minor cost, as it is a minor convenience, not a blood sucking half-a-car-payment each month. Seriously, I could lease a Saturn and pay less each month than I have been for a stupid phone.

Next victim, my health club membership. Bah, I give those greedy bastards 32 bux a month, well, no more. Sure, they helped me shed some unwanted weight, but being summer time, I can do that on my own. I'll miss the swimming pool and hot tub, damn!

I am going to cancel SOME of my domain hosting that I currently use. That'll save me a sizable chunk of cash as well. Basically, I found a way to trim off enough monthly outlay, that I'll be able to step up my savings significantly. It isn't about what you make, it's all about how much you can save. I know people who are so damn house-poor (The purchase of a home that is WAY beyond your means) that they can't even afford to go out to eat a few times a month.

Travel is where it's at for me people. Always has been, always will be. It is my philosophy that you can learn more on a trip abroad than you can by sitting in a classroom for a semester.

BTW, I live an hour south of the epicenter of the earthquake that happened this early A.M. The people reporting feeling the quake in St. Louis, Wisconsin, etc. are completely full of crap. I was in my kitchen when it occured, and didn't feel a thing. Not so much as a leaf shuttered. Hrmph...

should have paid more attention in school...you could be 50 feet away from it and not feel it, yet someone a mile away be thrown 5 feet in the air from it. or were you napping in physics when they talked about waves? probably snoozing in geology too.
I can understand about re-evaluation of your funds. I have and am doing the same thing. I just cancelled my gym membership and instead bought a treadmill. In the long and short run, it was way cheaper. Excuse me while I go axe another greedy entity sucking my money.
Way to go. Now if I could turn down this air conditioning, I'd put some money back into my pocket. Brrrr!
