The Passion of the Christ.
When I decided to resurrect brochspot.com, I swore that this would be a place for me to write exactly what I want to write, regardless of opinions of others.
Over the past weekend I went to see "The Passion of the Chirst." I have read many things in blogville decrying the movie, and labelling it as anti-Semitic, heresy, and worse. I could not disagree more. While I am not Jewish, I am the great grandson of a Polish Jew who had to flee the country to escape persecution because of his beliefs. I went into the movie looking for anything that would have justified the label. Sorry, it just isn't there.
Religious views aside, a strong point was made by the movie, a point of civil rights and society as a whole. If you look at it from a historical perspective, Jesus was prosecuted as a heretic and a true DSM case. If not, he was prosecuted for lying. It is frightening that mob mentality could rule people so completely.
I find it startling that some people find it in their hearts to be open and accepting of everything that is placed on a plate in front of them, be it pioneering schools of thought on philosophy or "New age" religion, or alternative medicine. However, when the word Christian or Jesus is attatched to anything, it is immediately dismissed as Ultra-right-wing fascism. That certainly isn't the Jesus that I know!!!
Im not here to cram anything that I believe down anyones throat, but I would like to offer the challenge to put your open mindedness to work.
