:-O Completely gone? I'm sorry to hear that, Broch. Let me know if you need me to resend any files.
Thanks April, Ill keep you updated on that. As of right now, I think that I can recover data off of the HD, but that was my biggest fear. The computer can be replaced, but not the files.
Eesh! Did you get hit with lightning or something? I was under the impression that a fancy-schmancy surge protector would prevent untimely computer electrocution.
dumbass. you're in the geek industry. there's no reason not to have an APC battery backup on that thing especially when the home models cost a paultry $40. for shame broch, for shame.
condolences. i hate it when that happens.
Geesh Broch - you're supposed to do stuff on your Apple, not fry it! We lost power for nearly two hours, and all four of my machines are still running great (even the P100 running Winders 98)... Maybe you should call an Apple representative and ask for a power supply made of modern, protected components instead of the 26 gauge bell wire they had to use to cut costs.
that would all be funny if you didn't just let it slip that you still have 98 running on something. at least put linux on it and make it respectable.
Actually, it was my fucking PC that fried. It was running XP PRO, Antec Case, DID HAVE A UPC. So there. Long Live Mac!
